August 8th - Santiago

We just arrived in Santiago....we'll be taking a city tour this afternoon...but wanted to take this chance to send some pictures from the Galapagos!

Moss and lichen in the trees! The interesting thing is that moss does not harm the trees!  They actually work together...the moss/lichen traps water to feed the trees during dry spells...and the tree provides a host for the lichen!
